- A medium thickness cardboard (a frozen pizza box for example)
- A pick
- And a 5-cent coin
With scissors, cut the cardboard into a rectangular shape. Then, cut its ends to have a pointed shape. Next, try to calibrate the size so that it can fit into the lock. Once that’s done, insert the cardboard inside and to mold it with the lock, this is where you use the pick. Once firmly inserted, place the coin on the lock and turn it in the right direction and the lock will open.
Use a master key
If you are not very good at picking, you can also open your mailbox lock with a master key. And be careful, a master key is just a term, but it is not a universal key. Technically, they are called PTT Pass keys. And generally, the type of PTT key used for a mailbox are the T10 and F10 versions.
